Our company is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Wasilla, Alaska. We provide services to a primary substance use disorder population, specializing in treatment for Veterans and active-duty members.

The Staff Nurse completes assigned nursing related services for each client. They are responsible for nursing assessments, providing routine nursing care, review of medication logs and assisting in overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician.

Essential Functions:

• Completes assigned nursing related services for each client.
• Responsible for nursing assessments
• Provides routine nursing care
• Reviews medication logs
• Assists in overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician.
• Facilitates medication education
• Incorporates nursing and medical issues into clients treatment plan
• Completes nursing documentation in accordance to facility and State requirements
• Administers medications, as needed

Schedules Available:

• Full-time
• 8-hour shifts, 3-11:30 pm/ 4 shifts a week.
• Scheduled days to be discussed in interview.

Pay:

• Starting at $40/hour

Requirements

• License to practice Nursing in the state of Alaska as a Registered Nurse.
• Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school of Nursing.

Preferences:

• Nursing work experience, preferred.
• Work experience in the field of behavioral/mental health, preferred.

• Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
• Adheres to: Healthcare Code of Ethics
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding:

Skills:

• Nursing experience in acute care, detox, and /or mental health facilities
• Strong assessment and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal communication-establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients and their families, communicate with treatment team
• Active listening
• Superb observation skill
• Detail-orientated
• Empathetic and understanding of client's needs.
