Registered Nurse (Rn)

$6,000 SIGN ON BONUS!!! The overall purpose of the Charge Nurse (RN) position is to participate in and oversee the assurance of the provision of resident care services consistent with accepted standards of care and as prescribed by the attending physician. This position also provides direct resident care and assigns duties to LPNs/LVNs and/or nursing assistants as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing school and holds a current and valid license in the appropriate State.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English Language.
• Current CPR certification

Essential Functions:

• Assures resident care is delivered in accordance with accepteed standards of practicee.
• Observes, assesses and reports resident conditions/changes and then in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Administers medication/treatments as prescribed.
• Receive, transcribe and execute physicians' orders.
• Implements and evaluates a resident's care plan.
• Identifies and secures equipment and supplies.
• Directs, monitors, and coordinates the timely delivery of quality resident care by all subordinate Staff.
• Assures that each resident's accident or incident is fully documented and reported in accordance with Festus Manor's Policy and State/Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Assures that each resident's attending physician and family or responsible party is promptly notified of any significant change in the resident's health condition.
• Assists in the evaluation of subordinate staff and any necessary counsel/discipline in accordance with Festus Manor Policies.
• Ensures a safe environment is maintained in accordance with Festus Manor's Disaster and OSHA Manual and all local, State, and Federal guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Has reviewed Festus Manor Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Continuing Education:

• Attends in-service and educational programs.
• Attends continuing education required for maintenance of professional certification or licensure.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of Staff, patient families, and any outside customers.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
