*REGISTERED NURSE (RN) FOR 13 WEEK CONTRACT IN SPRINGFIELD, MO**Local / Travel Contract*_The Med Surg / Tele RN is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in the unit. This role involves monitoring and managing patients with a variety of medical conditions who require continuous telemetry monitoring. The Med Surg / Tele RN collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care, ensure patient safety, and support recovery._*$2, $3,151.00 per Week (Taxed + Non-Taxed)
Night Shift
3x12 or 4x12 Hr. Shifts (36 or 48 Hrs. per Week) *(Weekends / Fri - Sun or Fri - Mon Blocked Schedule)
*Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings, promptly identifying and responding to any abnormalities.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Continuously monitor telemetry equipment, ensuring accurate and timely detection of cardiac arrhythmias and other critical changes.
- Interpret telemetry data and communicate significant findings to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
- Develop and update individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient-specific goals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and discharge planning meetings.
- Educate patients and their families about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and post-discharge care.
- Provide instruction on medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and prevent complications.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and hospital requirements.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and best practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of nursing practices.
- Stay current with advancements in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing through continuing education and professional development.
- Maintain professional certification and licensure as required by state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a focus on medical-surgical and/or telemetry care.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
