Are you a skilled and compassionate nurse with a passion for clinical research?
We are seeking dedicated individuals who are interested in supporting a short-term clinical trial project, conducting patient visits (1 hour) in the central Chicago area on Saturdays and Sundays. Assignments are flexible! For this role, the Clinical Trial Home Research Nurse will complete short visits (approximately 2 hours including travel) to administer a patient injection. Nurses will be compensated with a premium pay rate of $180 per patient visit. In addition to the short-term project, the nurse may choose to stay with WEP to support other standard project work in the area.

Job Description: As a Clinical Trial Home Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of research studies. Nurses with recent acute care and/or home care experience and phlebotomy skills will work under the guidance of the principal study investigator and nursing management, providing patient care according to clinical research protocols. Nurses will administer investigational medications/products, conduct patient assessments, collect vital information, and adhere to study protocols with utmost accuracy and ethics. Your expertise and caring nature will help us maintain compliance with each study's protocol and safeguard the well-being of study patients.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to research study patients, primarily in their homes.
- Ensure thorough review and documentation at each subject study visit, maintaining compliance with study protocols and local policies.
- Administer investigational medications/products as required and monitor patients for any side effects, promptly notifying the Principal Investigator of findings or issues.
- Perform medical tests, including vital signs, specimen collection, and electrocardiograms, and process or ship specimens per protocol.
- Adhere to clinical research policies, ensuring ethical conduct and protecting vulnerable populations.
- Hold active nursing licensure and maintain a high standard of nursing care throughout the research process.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited BSN or Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
- 2+ years of clinical nursing experience, including desirable clinical skills like phlebotomy, subcutaneous injections, ECGs, specimen collections, cannulation, and administration of intravenous therapies.
- BLS certification required.
- RN License required.
- Driver's License required.
- Experience and knowledge of working in clinical research trials with ICH-GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Certification (Training can be completed upon hire).
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate proficiency in computer usage and software applications.
- Flexibility and availability for a variable work schedule.
- Possess an unencumbered driver's license and a reliable vehicle for home visits.
