Hospital Registered Nurse – St. Mary’s Hospital
The Hospital Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the overall care of patients and families in the hospital setting. The Hospital Registered Nurse coordinates care delivery with interdisciplinary team members and directs the activities of other hospital staff.
Schedule:
4 days a week 8:30a-5p, working the same hours every 4th weekend, no on-call shifts, 1-2 holidays per year
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse:
Provide education/teaching to hospital staff.
Complete hospice/palliative admissions or sign contracts for the patient’s discharge home.
Assess patients for General Inpatient appropriateness.
Provide clinical and supporting case management based on the patient’s terminal diagnosis and end-of-life symptoms.
Complete initial, comprehensive, and updated assessments of patient and family needs.
Develop, implement, and review care plans for patients and families.
Report appropriate findings and communicate significant changes to the attending physician and process physician/NP orders.
Assess patients in the Emergency Room.
Assist in the discharge planning process.
Prepare for and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Participate in meetings within the hospital setting as requested.
Administer and titrate medication according to physician/nurse practitioner orders.
Delegate nursing duties to LPNs and supervise care provided by CNA.
Consistently and concisely document activity according to department protocols and standards.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.

Requirements:Qualifications:
1. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Wisconsin (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of practice).
2. At least one year of Registered Nurse experience.
3. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance coverage.
