As a Pre-Op/PACU nurse at our facility, you have the opportunity to enjoy no calls, no weekends and no holidays. We focus on offering a high quality, ambulatory care alternative to a hospital for surgical procedures.
We are seeking a qualified Pre-Op/PACU nurse to administer diligent care to patients in our Ambulatory Surgery Center via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. The nurse will provide care for post-operative patients recovering from general, regional, and local anesthesia, specialty in orthopedics. This is a full-time position.
Duties include implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians with blocks prior to surgery. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for admission and discharge. Initiate IVs, assess patients pre and post operative condition, monitor vital signs. Answer any questions the patient may have and provide patient education upon admission and discharge. Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies. Charge nurse duties include scheduling staff, overseeing patient care, staff management and the day-to-day operations.
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Hawaii Nursing License
Current BLS and ACLS, PALS within 6 months
Minimum of 2 years expereience
Ability to care for patients from 13 years of age to geriatrics
Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
General clinical competency in acute patient care, ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Excellent teaching, communication and organizational skills
Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
Strong customer service skills
Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
