Job title: Registered Nurse Cath Lab RN (Interventional Radiology)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology to join our healthcare team. The RN will be responsible for providing safe and efficient patient care throughout the diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Cath Lab and Radiology departments. They will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes while ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for all patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare patients for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures by conducting thorough assessments, obtaining vital signs, and reviewing medical history.
2. Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placements, and other specialized imaging-guided interventions.
3. Monitor patients' hemodynamic status, administer medications, and provide intervention as necessary to ensure patient stability.
4. Evaluate and manage potential complications during procedures, including cardiac arrhythmias, bleeding, and adverse reactions to medications.
5. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and comfort.
6. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly within the electronic medical record system.
7. Educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and regulatory standards.
9. Assist in the training and supervision of less-experienced staff, including new hires and nursing students.
10. Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac and interventional radiology procedures and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid registered nursing (RN) license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology nursing.
3. BLS and ACLS certification.
4. Proficient in assessing and monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status.
5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-stress situations.
6. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
7. Ability to multitask and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
8. Knowledge of medical software and electronic health record systems.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts and weekends when required.
10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
