Position: Registered Nurse Pediatric Intensive Care Unit PICU ( RN )
Location: Naperville, IL
Shift: Full-time: Nights 7pm - 7:30am, rotating weekends (every third) and holiday schedule.
Pay: Depends on experience, starting at $34.68/hr plus Shift Differential
About the Unit
The Pediatric ICU is a 16 bed unit with diagnoses including Asthma, new onset diabetes, behavioral health patients, eating disorders. Many opportunities for education and growth within the department and the hospital!
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4.
- Neonatal to 17 years of age.
- Assess, treat, and monitor young patients under 18 years old who are presenting acute, serious ailments
- Coordinate age-appropriate care with other healthcare members.
- Typical nursing duties include measuring blood pressure, following oxygen levels, tracking urine output, inserting IVs, changing wound dressings, administering antibiotics, adjusting ventilators, and analyzing lab results.
- Record patient information concisely and accurately because every symptom matters.
- Answer questions and provide education for caregivers about managing their child’s health condition.
Must Haves:
- License: IL RN License
- Certifications: CPR/BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year PICU
- Education: Associates required with BSN within 5 years.
