Department Description:
Exciting opportunity to work in a rewarding, fast paced, Cardiac Care telemetry unit
Specialization in the care of pre/post-op coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) patients
Specialization in the care of post-cardiac cath patients receiving procedures that include: Watchman, TAVR, Pacemakers, Ablations, EVAR, and treatment for AMI.
Management of cardiac drip infusions and assist in bedside procedures such as a TEE
Requires strong critical thinking and sharp assessment skills, as patients are stable but can quickly become unstable due to their higher complexity
Ability to effectively communicate and work under pressure
Strong teamwork and support amongst Heart Center staff, many of whom have had a long tenure of working in this exciting and rewarding environment

Job Summary:
Works under the supervision of the Director. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies and procedures and Nurse Practice Act. She/he will individualize patient care based upon the age appropriate and developmental needs and will accept responsibility for the direction of co-workers in the implementation of the plan of care. Collaborates with physicians, patient/families and members of the health care team in delivering a plan of care. Utilizes positive communication skills. May be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients. Should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) required. New hires must obtain BSN within two and a half (2 ½ ) years from hire.
Licenses: Current California RN license. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards. *See unit specific certification requirements below.
Experience: Must have successfully completed SVMH Pharmacology test.
The hourly rate for this position is $59.04 - $79.84. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
