The Clinical Nurse (NCR02) Urology role is a distinctive position that involves administrative tasks, clinical coordination, and direct patient care.
The Clinical Nurse (NCR02) will help coordinate clinical care and patient education activities at BIDMC Urology to ensure efficient delivery of quality patient care. As a member of the Urology clinical team, the CN will collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in adult ambulatory practice, possess proficiency with EMR systems, and be a collaborative team player.
Department Specific Job Responsibilities-Education/Teaching:
- Vaginal dilation – teaching post Vaginoplasty
- Penile implant – inflation/deflation teaching
- AUS teaching
- Bladder retraining – coaching/education
- Foley catheter placement for acute retention – teaching resource for Foley catheter care

Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care to patients and makes necessary nursing judgments. Responsible for systematically assessing the health care needs of individuals or groups, formulating care plans, implementing and evaluating them.
- Coordinates patient care and directs assistive personnel to provide safe, effective, and equitable patient-centered care.
- Works collaboratively with health professionals to determine healthcare needs, develops trusting relationships with patients and families, and advocates for patients.
- Maintains education requirements and participates in professional development activities.
- Demonstrates commitment to patients and staff, reflecting the goals of the Medical Center.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program
- Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certification
- 1-3 years of related work experience
- Basic familiarity with computers

- Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise
