Under the supervision of Department Director and Chief Nursing Officer, provides and supervises direct and indirect patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Communicates with physicians, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties with minimal supervision.
Minimal Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current unencumbered license from Georgia Board of Nursing
- Current BCLS certification
- Obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of hire and maintain current certification (If working in Emergency Department, Medical Surgical Unit, Specialty Care Unit or Surgery)
- Obtain PALS certification within 1 year of hire and maintain current certification (if working in Emergency Department)
Experience:
- Experience preferred, but not necessary, may obtain on the job.
- Ability to proficiently perform all essential job responsibilities.
Physical/Mental Demands:
- Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk, and bend intermittently throughout the work day. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to adequately fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
