Nights Shift Times: 7:00 PM - 10:30 AM / 7:00PM - 7:30AM/36 hours scheduled.
Must be willing to float to units where experienced
Weekends: Weekend schedule to be determined by facility
On Call: On call schedule to be determined by facility
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with cardiovascular conditions, including monitoring vital signs, assessing cardiac rhythms, and evaluating responses to treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established protocols and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, such as EKGs, cardiac output, and arterial pressure, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Provide emotional support, education, and counseling to patients and their families, helping them understand their conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, respiratory therapists, and other specialists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment, including ventilators, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy machines.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients undergoing invasive procedures or surgery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions and planning.
- Assist in emergency situations, such as code blue responses, by providing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other critical care interventions.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in cardiovascular nursing and attend continuing education programs as required.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, but not required.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a preference for critical care or cardiovascular nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular conditions, treatments, and interventions.
