Job Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in Ambulatory Care, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in outpatient settings. You will work closely with a diverse patient population, providing comprehensive nursing care, coordinating services, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Care:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current health status.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and manage patient symptoms, reactions to treatments, and overall well-being.
Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
- Provide instructions on medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
Clinical Coordination:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Coordinate and facilitate patient appointments, tests, and referrals to ensure seamless care.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, and interventions.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards in documentation.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and clinic efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices.
Emergency Response:
- Respond to medical emergencies within the Ambulatory Care setting.
- Implement emergency protocols and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and other safety measures.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in Ambulatory Care, outpatient clinics, or related settings.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
