Accountant

Summary:
We are a leading, national real estate service provider looking to hire an Accountant at our Parsippany, NJ Headquarters. This position reports directly to the Controller, assisting in all aspects of financial reporting, general ledger closes and account reconciliations as well as involvement in budgeting, planning and more. This role is highly visible and a vital part of the finance team with growth potential.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM
Salary:
$75,000
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for accounting and periodic general close process: prepare journal entries, review financial statements, prepare analysis, monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and bank accounts.
Review certain accounting work conducted by an offshore team.
Prepare monthly reporting packages to the Parent company.
Maximize company profitability by preparing and analyzing job cost reports.
Conduct actual-to-budget site reviews to identify areas of improvement.
Assist with interim and year-end audit requests as well as other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Strong corporate accounting experience with the ability to meet deadlines.
Possesses personal and professional integrity.
Can communicate confidently, well-organized, and has a good sense of priorities.
3 years of experience working as an accountant.
College degree majoring in accounting.
Solid understanding of GAAP.
Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel)
Any automated accounting software, we use Sage Intacct.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and management communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, customer service, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with additional hours during closes.
Identify areas for improvement and present those ideas to the Controller.
