The RN will monitor drug therapy and identify drug related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions, and inadequate therapy; takes appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems. The RN coordinates, provides, and ensures a continuum of care by collaborating with other healthcare providers both within and outside of the organization. The RN is responsible for scheduling infusion therapy patient appointments, obtaining required documentation supporting medical necessity, physician orders, insurance authorizations, supporting lab results, and patient demographics. The RN educates the patient and family regarding the treatment plan and will utilize sterile technique daily while managing central venous lines.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year specific Infusion experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- South Carolina (or compact state) licensure as RN (SCLLR) in good standing required.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification preferred.
Other:
- Prior experience on the Cerner EMR platform preferred.
