Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care
- Educate patients and their families on proper healthcare procedures and disease prevention
- Adhere to infection control policies and protocols
- Maintain accurate, detailed medical records
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems such as Athenahealth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Skills:
- Toddler care: Ability to provide specialized care for toddlers, including monitoring growth and development, administering age-appropriate vaccinations, and addressing common childhood illnesses.
- Hospice palliative medicine: Knowledge and experience in providing compassionate end-of-life care to patients with terminal illnesses.
- Inhale: Proficiency in administering inhaled medications using various devices such as inhalers or nebulizers.
- Health coaching: Ability to provide guidance and support to patients in making healthy lifestyle choices and managing chronic conditions.
- Aseptic technique: Skill in maintaining a sterile environment during medical procedures to prevent infection.
- Medication administration: Competence in safely administering medications to patients according to prescribed dosages and routes.
- Medical records: Experience in accurately documenting patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes in electronic medical records systems.
- Catheterization: Proficiency in inserting urinary catheters for patients who require bladder drainage.
- Case management: Ability to coordinate and manage the care of patients with complex medical needs, including coordinating referrals, arranging follow-up appointments, and ensuring continuity of care.
