Registered Dental Assistant - RDA
Bell Gardens, CA
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8 AM to 5 PM; required to work one Saturday per month, another day off that week.
Bilingual: English/Spanish Required
Summary: The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) assists the dentist(s) in providing primary care services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health as well as for sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instrument supplies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as dentist chair side assistant.
- Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions, and giving directions to patients as authorized by dentist.
- Prepares operation procedure for patient treatment as per dental department protocols or directions.
- Completion of dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations and law.
- Maintains all dental department equipment in accordance with manufacturer's directions.
- Maintains a list of dental department patients, monitors patient flow, and assist dental director, dental hygienist in assuring that all patient records are documents are filed correctly.
- Receives and places necessary telephone calls consistent with a professional manner.
- May be required to perform front office duties such as: scheduling, confirming appointments, verifying insurance, checking patients in and out, collecting co-pay, and managing balance due.
Requirements
- High School or GED certificate required.
- Credentialed as a valid licensed Registered Dental Assistant with the following certifications: Coronal polishing/X-ray certification.
- Current CPR and First Aid required.
- Bilingual: Spanish/English (required)
- You will need to obtain your Pit and Fissure Sealants certification within 60 days after the date of hire if you don’t currently have one.
List of documents needed for RDA: Resume, Dental School Certificate, RDA license, Coronal Polish and Sealants, Radiation Safety, Infection Control, CA Dental Practice Act, and CPR or BLS Card.
