Position Summary: Registered Behavior Technician - Advantage Behavioral Health
Under general supervision, provides a broad range of paraprofessional social services to patients/clients/consumers and their families. Conducts patient/client/consumer intakes, participates in treatment team planning, and performs crisis intervention. Assists in dealing with personal and social problems. May provide supportive counseling to consumers and families and/or
serve as a liaison for social services. May perform case management duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the development of an Individual Plan of Care (POC) for each assigned client
- Provides appropriate input in developing and maintaining a functional assessment of behavior
- Assists with the implementation of an individual POC for each assigned client
- Collects data (paper and/or electronically) on targeted behaviors specific to the clients POC, with accuracy
- Electronic documentation, with signature, regarding the services provided, within the same day
- Follows POC exactly as it is written and trained
- Prepares and maintains records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to supervisor
- Must travel to clients homes and be willing to transport clients to targeted community environments (if specified in POC)
- Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs; toileting, feeding, hygiene, etc.), when needed
- Be competent and comfortable using Safety Care Management, when needed
- Attends meetings regarding clients
- Provides appropriate information regarding the client and/or input in meetings pertaining to case management and/or case collaboration
- Attends staff trainings pertaining to research and education in Applied Behavior Analysis
- Attends seminars and meetings, as required
- Maintains knowledge by reading up-to-date articles, books, etc.
- Actively participates in supervision by the assigned BCBA
- Supervision may include, but is not limited to:
- development of performance expectations
- observation, behavioral skills training and delivery of performance feedback
- modeling technical, professional and ethical behavior
- guiding the development of problem-solving and ethical decision-making repertoires
- review of written materials (e.g., daily progress notes, data sheets)
- oversight and evaluation of the effects of behavior-analytic service delivery
- ongoing evaluation of the effects of supervision
- Supervision will include, at minimum, two face-to-face, real contacts per month
- individual and group supervision will occur
- Supervision will include, observing the RBT in providing services, at minimum, once a month (e.g., in person or videoconferencing)
- Supervision may include, but is not limited to:
- Adheres to the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines and RBT Ethics Code
- Must participate in 40-hr RBT training and pass the RBT Competency Assessment
- Must take and pass RBT exam within 30 days of hire (reimbursement for passing the exam)
- Must stay up-to-date and active with RBT certification
- Functions and/or provides services with an awareness, sensitivity and understanding of cultural differences, similarities and abilities
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Registered Behavior Technician - Advantage Behavioral Health
Registered Behavior Technician 1: Bachelor's degree in a social services related field from an accredited college or university OR High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience in a social services related position OR One year of experience at the lower level or position equivalent.
Registered Behavior Technician 2: Bachelor's degree in a social services related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in a social services related field OR High school diploma or GED AND Three years of experience in a social services related position OR One year of experience at the lower level or position equivalent.
Registered Behavior Technician 3: Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Four years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BACB certified RBT
- Associate degree or higher and/or enrolled in an undergraduate program in a related field
- 2 years work experience providing social or direct care services to an individual or groups of special needs individuals
- Experience in ABA
- Bilingual in Spanish
Certifications:
- Valid Drivers license and car insurance
- BACB RBT certification obtained within 30 days
