Job Description
The Registered Nurse coordinates and oversees the entire plan of care for each resident, in addition to supervising the health care staff. This person must be able and willing to collaborate with many people and service lines. It is imperative that compassionate care is combined with a strong work ethic and astute nursing and leadership skills.
Adhere to Nursing Department policies and procedures, focusing on the importance of incorporating person-centered care concepts in the provision of care, as well as strict adherence to applicable NJS and federal regulations.
Manger, educate and train health care staff
Assist with the care of residents with primary care providers, specialists, lab, radiology, and all pertinent service lines
Collect data (i.e., pertinent health information, digressions from baseline/change in behavior, vital signs, glucose) to assist with performing initial and ongoing assessments to ensure appropriateness of care
Recognize and reports changes in a resident’s baseline, including behavior, complaints, physical symptoms, skin alterations, response to medication or treatment, etc. to the Director of Nursing Services
Adapt to any additional needs of the Sisters, including but not limited to:
1. Providing post-mortem care, offering additional support and time during acute illness, implementing schedule changes to promote attendance to community meetings/prayers/celebrations
2. Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure appropriate and timely provision of care in accordance with each resident’s care plan
3. Offer emotional/social interaction/ companionship through professional and meaningful conversation and time spent with the Sisters

Implements the goals of person-centered care, as well as affirms its importance and value with staff. Objectives include:
§ Promoting the satisfaction of each Sister’s life by providing opportunities to strengthen current interests and cultivate new interests
§ Responding to each Sister’s concerns in a compassionate manner with high emotional support
§ Encouraging each Sister to feel safe and at home, including assisting Sisters with adjusting to living in this residential setting
§ Strengthening each Sister’s perception of herself by not only respecting the Sister’s interests and personality traits, but also validating the Sister as a unique human being
§ Providing person-centered care which sees Sisters as individuals with preferences for life and care.
§ Working together with the individual Sister to develop an appropriate plan suited to the Sister’s needs and preferences for life and wellness.
