The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for directing sales activities in multiple sales territories and in significant national accounts. Primary territory is northeast US.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Steward our mission (to enrich lives by providing differentiated packaging automation and services) and values (unwavering integrity, servant's heart, ownership spirit and continuous innovation and improvement).
- Provide direction and work cooperatively with partnering representative firms and directly with customers to achieve annual gross profit targets.
- Provide direction and leadership in the sales efforts of other Douglas Machine Inc. sales staff who are assigned to their territory.
- Develop and execute an annual proactive plan to broaden and strengthen our business relationships with new and assigned strategic or key accounts, and ensure that all plans and actions are integrated with their counterparts in other territories.
- Develop and execute an ongoing plan to best equip and support the agents employed by their partnering representative firms.
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels and assure closed-loop communication with all who need to know whenever satisfaction is achieved or at risk.
- Regularly travel to customer locations, with or without partnering agents, with travel time being approximately 50 percent.
- Responsible for completeness and accuracy of all requests for proposals that originate from their areas of responsibility.
- Adhere to business unit standards and limitations when addressing efficiencies, pricing, lead times, customer training, equipment installation and acceptance. Present any requested or implied exceptions to business for review and consideration.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
This position is normally represented by a BS degree and a minimum of five years' experience in sales, preferably in packaging machinery, capital equipment or demonstrated ability in other areas that strongly support success in a sales function and developing a high level of customer acceptance.
