Sales Account Executive will develop strategic plans that accelerate growth, drive share, expand distribution and elevate our partnerships across customers in the Western US. This leader must successfully identify, plan, and communicate proactively both internally and externally.
This candidate must possess +5 years proven sales experience in a related position within the consumer products goods industry with direct selling responsibility. Previous selling experience, as well as Category management experience is essential to lead selling across customers in this geography. This position requires strong analytical/assessment skill, strategic selling, creative problem solving and strong communication skills. Demonstrated leadership, solid financial acumen, trade management, presentation skills and consumer/category insights are a must. A bachelor's degree with a focus in business is preferred.
In this position, you will be accountable for the achievement of specific goals/KPIs by developing customer relationships, leading internal support, and executing a trade marketing plan to drive sales, share, profitable growth, retail execution and expansion.
Key areas of Responsibility:
- Increase sales at the accounts through analytical and fact-based selling.
- Achieve assigned sales targets through the maintenance and expansion of distribution, merchandising and promotional activity for each assigned brands across the Western US Customers
- Build brand equity and profit, increasing the sales volume across our brand portfolio
- Build strategic partnerships with customers by integrating the Companys strategic initiatives, building upon your key customer(s) strategic mission and values across Retail/Wholesale Customers and their Divisions.
- Own and execute our specific trade strategies, by brand, working both internally and leveraging IRI Scan/Panel to better understand the lifts, HHs, impact on our partners business and more. Accuracy in forecasting is essential.
- Collaborate across all cross functional teams operations, supply chain, marketing, and additional sales team members to share best practices and create efficiencies in our processes and systems.
- Leverage insights to build joint business plans around consumer needs. Experience with IRI, Neilsen and other data insights, is a must.
- Build strong cross functional partnerships internally, and consistently share best practices to support your customer and PGO working with a high send of urgency across projects, requests and deadlines.
- Ensure observance of safe work practices to include the immediate work area, visits to customer sites and operation of a vehicle used for company business.
- Manage day to day tactics with our internal team, our distribution arm and potential agency leadership through meetings, scorecards and clear communication
- Attends customer trade shows and industry events as directed by leadership
- Comply with all company policies, instructions, and directions for the fulfillment of company objectives and to maximize profits from sales.
- Be alert to competitive products and merchandising practices; keep leadership informed.
- Prepare weekly sales reports and expense reports as required.
- Prepare and submit special reports, acceptance of products, or competitive conditions, as may be requested by management or as observed in the marketplace.
- Time in the trade is important and understanding/defining success in store, working with both our distribution partners, our customers and our teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required or equivalent work experience
- Candidate ideally resides in Dallas/Ft. Worth area or Phoenix area, but open to other areas based on experience
- +7 years sales experience, including experience with Albertsons
- Experience working within IRI both Scan and Panel data
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills
- Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
- Must be self-driven, results oriented, and able to drive sales while working independently
- Travel up to 40%
