Establish the framework of the objectives and policies for Nursing Services. Will plan and coordinate nursing services with those of the medical and administrative systems. The Regional Nurse Manager will participate as a member of the management team in planning, policy formulation, and administrative decision making with attention to the role, functions, and operations of nursing services. The position is responsible for patient care, leadership, resource management, and clinical management. The position reports to the Corporate Director of Clinical.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising the following functions: nursing, pharmacy, and patient activities.
- Responsible for nurse performance and clinical services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice in the communities.
- Assesses the quality of care rendered.
- Initiates the development of policies and procedures that govern nursing services and other services under their supervision.
- Verifies employee credentials under their position supervision.
- Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of services within the goals of each location.
- Serves as a spokesperson for nursing matters and represents the company with professional nursing and related organizations.
- Participates in meetings and committees.
- Encourages and supports research and improvement studies that can make meaningful contributions to the quality and economy of nursing services.
- Coordinates and evaluates the information from the nursing staff (center-based DONs) regarding the effectiveness of the nursing departments, and other departments that comprise the interdisciplinary team in providing the standard of care required by Federal and State regulations.
- Reports findings, on a regular basis, to the RDO.
- Makes recommendations to the Administrator/Director, Nursing Department and other departments that comprise the interdisciplinary team to maintain or improve standards of care and to maintain compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations.
- Provides audits and evaluations of the major nursing programs as outlined, by way of chart reviews, rounds and interviews to proactively identify opportunities for improvement or lack of compliance with standards of care.
- Assists the leadership of the facility in developing the strategic plan of correction and to put systems into place to obtain substantial compliance. Ensures a methodical plan for follow-up completion to the current plans.
- Provides education to all community staff.
- Works closely with the RDO of assigned facilities to obtain established goals and positive outcomes.
- Participates in the development and implementation of Program Development.
- Supports/fills open Administrator/Director position; assists in recruitment and on-boarding.
- Risk Management: Identifies, analyzes; evaluates the extent and element of exposure; and recommends appropriate action to mitigate risk of potential and actual liability exposures in the health care system.
- Any additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Knowledge of statistics and research methodologies.
Education and Experience:
- Professional Registered Nurse with a current state license.
- At least three years of experience managing nurses in a nursing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive and flexibility to travel up to 75% to various sites as needed.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times with or without assistance.
