Regional Manager

Job Description

The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Sales and Operations of multiple construction projects across the region. This position will lead a team of Project Managers, Estimators, and other staff members to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Identify, develop, and implement realistic goals and objectives for the region which promote growth and are supportive of the Company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary team of project managers, estimators, and support staff.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration that empowers team members to achieve project goals and personal growth.
  • Assist Senior Project Managers or Project Managers with project challenges (poor financial performance, GC/Owner challenges, complex pricing issues, final contract negotiations, claims).
  • Work closely with project managers and other staff members to monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are profitable and meet financial targets.
  • Provide input on corporate strategy.
  • Monitor weekly productions on every regional project over $500k.
  • Input on selection of PMs for each regional project.
  • Schedule annual regional performance reviews.
  • Participate in selection of new regional candidates and promotion of current employees.
  • Review selection of large projects with Chief Estimator.
  • Review selection of out of town projects with Chief Estimator.
  • Provide monthly project progress projections recap to ELT.
  • Facilitate regional financial review meetings.
  • Monitor financial performance of Sales and Projects through reports in Vista
  • Prepare estimates for regional projects.
  • Project manage regional projects
  • Responsible for conflict resolution, both internally and externally.
  • Approve regional policies and procedures and provide input on decisions regarding corporate policies and procedures.
  • Implement regional and corporate policy and procedure changes.
  • Reprimand and terminate regional employees, if required.
  • Recruit and hire top talent in the Region from Field, Project Management, Estimating to Safety.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • At least 10 years of construction industry work experience, with a proven track record of managing teams and large-scale construction projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of staff members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial construction, including drywall, metal stud framing, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, and QuickBid.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Strong math skills are required.
  • Ability to work in team environment is required.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve is required.
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught is required.
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
  • Must possess strong organizational and computer use skills and have a high level of competency to read/write/speak English, interpret construction related documentation and communicate with coworkers.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or related field.
  • Local to office is preferred
