LabCorp is seeking a AP Regional Lab Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the entire Histology and Cytology Department (histology, cytology, accessioning, customer service, pathologist support, and transcription) for assigned region. This candidate can be located in either Seattle, WA (preferred) or Portland, Oregon.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall operations and administration of multiple Anatomic Pathology laboratories (Cytology, Histology and pre-analytical support teams) across the enterprise and/or division. This entails ensuring testing is properly performed, and quality standards are met to provide accurate and reliable results.

- Ensures the team meets the needs of our clients by achieving quality metrics and committed turn-around-times. This entails:
- Creating a culture that inspires, allows for innovation, provides team member development and creates opportunities for the team to successfully deliver on commitments;
- Communicating in a clear, concise and credible manner to secure the understanding of the established vision and strategies through positive interaction with team members, clients, sales, corporate operations, and management;
- Assessing and championing technical needs and staff shortages with Senior Director and VP of Laboratory Operations, and Core Laboratory and Divisional leadership;
- Ensuring client inquiries and operational issues are resolved in a timely manner by consulting with Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Pathologist, QA, other Laboratory Managers, discipline directors, laboratory directors or corporate operations as appropriate;
- Ensuring laboratories are compliant with corporate, state and federal regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, State, I.S.O.15189, etc.) related to personnel safety and quality of laboratory testing as well as professional conduct in assigned areas;
- Investigating deviations from established procedures to ensure effective corrective action;
- Overseeing the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and methods, as well as installation of equipment, according to scheduled timelines;
- Collaborating to share workloads and best practices across the laboratory operations organization while maintaining local metrics and business needs;
- Advocating to bring state-of-the-art A/P informatics, digital pathology, and AI into current operations, as appropriate;
- Providing opportunities for team members to participate in continuing education in-services and problem-solving strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Certification is required (HT(ASCP), HTL(ASCP) or CT(ASCP)
- Prior supervisor experience managing several direct reports
- Previous experience managing people leaders is a plus
- Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Proven success in training and developing both technical and non-technical employees
- Ability to problem solve and provide solutions under minimal supervision
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Travel required
Pay Range: 101,000-139,000 salary
