Building Stronger Teams, LLC, an HR Consulting Firm, is currently recruiting on behalf of NCEOC.

Overview: The North Carolina Employee Ownership Center (NCEOC) is a nonprofit that serves as the central hub for resources on employee‐ownership for businesses in North Carolina. Its primary mission is to educate business owners, their advisors (lawyers, bankers, accountants, wealth advisors), and community leaders on the social and business benefits of employee ownership. NCEOC is a statewide educational nonprofit that is dedicated to protecting jobs, increasing community wealth, and creating a more vibrant, inclusive economy.

NCEOC educates the public about employee ownership through events, resources, case studies, and connections to service providers who can assist with employee ownership transitions. We serve the entire state, with a particular focus on outreach to Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)-owned businesses and those with majority BIPOC workforces. Our overarching goal is to create broad‐based community wealth by increasing the number of employee‐owned businesses.

The NCEOC Regional Director plays a key role in developing and implementing NCEOC’s programs. It is a dynamic and influential role that combines relationship management, marketing, fundraising, and Board support, and leadership responsibilities to advance the mission of NCEOC and create positive impact hroughout the state.

Job Title: NCEOC Regional Director

Reports to: NCEOC Executive Director

Full Time Salaried Position: $43,900-$50,000/annually

Location: Remote with location in NC

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:

● Lead and cultivate new or existing partnerships with potential stakeholders, such as business groups, advisors, government entities, community organizations, and educational institutions to expand NCEOC’s mission and footprint.

● Actively participate in database recordkeeping on NEON (or other applicable platforms) for organized contact management.

● Work with ED to manage inquiries received via general email, directing individuals to the appropriate contacts and updating the Prospects spreadsheet, as well as submitting the quarterly data to the Workers to Owners group.

● Initiate dialogues with companies interested in exploring employee ownership, with an emphasis on building strong relationships.

Fundraising, Event, and/or Program Support:

● Lead and coordinate educational outreach events in the Triad and/or other NCEOC focus areas, including, but not limited to geography outlined in the Rural Cooperative Development Grants.

● Lead and manage the NCEOC ambassador program, including planning, developing, and facilitating events that raise awareness for employee ownership and foster community involvement.

● Assist in the ideation, creation and execution of the October Employee Ownership Month event.

● Work with ED to identify, develop, execute, and nurture fundraising opportunities, with a specific focus on corporate sponsorships, individual donations, foundation grants, and municipal funding.

Marketing:

● Build and sustain infrastructure to promote NCEOC activities and happenings frequently and regularly, i.e. Editorial/Marketing calendar for newsletters and/or social.

● Work with ED in all marketing and public relations efforts, including updating the website and implementing digital marketing campaigns, to enhance community outreach.

● Manage and direct logistics for building captivating promotional materials.

Leadership:

● Actively participate in the formed NCEOC committees, providing input and contributing to the development of advocacy, event, communications, research and other strategies and program areas.

● Represent NCEOC's interests in legislative hearings and meetings, build relationships with key stakeholders, and stay informed on legislative developments to effectively advocate for the organization's goals.

Board Support

● Provide support to the NCEOC Board of Directors and committees by coordinating meetings, facilitating communication, and ensuring follow-up actions, demonstrating a commitment to effective project management.

● Assist in the capturing of key organizational metrics to be reported at quarterly board meetings.

● Handle other tasks as directed by the Executive Director, always with a focus on project

management, relationship building, entry-level nonprofit fundraising, and community outreach.

Desired Experience

● Excellent written communication and public speaking skills

● Ability to conduct effective online research

● Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, social media, and CRM software

● Marketing or public relations experience

● Connections to the NC community

● Non‐profit management skills

● Fundraising/business development experience

● Grassroots organizing experience

● Knowledge of employee ownership concepts a plus
