Regional Director of Therapy

We are looking for a highly motivated Regional Director to oversee all aspects of our Therapy and Rehabilitative services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a Regional Therapy role in a long-term care setting. The Regional Director of Therapy is responsible for the development, management, and operation of our Therapy services across all of our long-term care communities. These functions include staffing, program development, budget development and monitoring, program evaluation, quality assurance, risk management and marketing support relating to the program. This position is an exempt position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides or arranges for sufficient and appropriate training for assigned staff.
- Provides day-to-day management/ consultation to Directors of Rehabilitation in our facilities.
- Develops the program budget, monitors budget performance, and ensures effective cost control in conjunction with \ financial management.
- Ensures compliance with standards, rules and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies.
- Participates in implementation of appropriate and effective quality assurance, program evaluation and risk management programs in coordination with the other Program Directors.
- Ensures program functions are coordinated with the medical director and department managers/directors; provides reports as required.
- Assists and supports the marketing staff/rehabilitation services and assists in marketing these services.
- Maintains contacts in the local/regional rehabilitation community and identifies community needs.
- Identifies business opportunities and reports to Marketing and Administration.
- Collaborates with other members of regional clinical team overseeing clinical outcomes
- Assist in the oversight of assigned long-term care facilities to include, but not limited to the following:
- Supervise all therapy activities at assigned facilities.
- Clinical and financial aspects including ongoing customer service by assisting in the supervision of Director’s of Rehab and therapists within the assigned long-term care facilities.
- Oversee therapy services with the nursing departments.
- Monitor staff productivity and staffing requirements per patient caseload.
- Mentor Managers to assure clinical best practices/efficient financial
- Ensure program compliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies.
- Monitor outcomes of the rehabilitation program.
- Review chart audit reports from the compliance team and mentor assigned personnel as needed.
- Collect statistical data to monitor services utilization, timely documentation and fiscally responsible performance.
- Develop long-range departmental objectives including details (costs/benefits, resources, schedules) for meeting those objectives.
- Meet quarterly with facilities to review Clinical Outcome Reports and assure satisfaction with our therapy services.
- Attend assigned corporate meetings to review clinical data and collaborate on directives; assure implementation and compliance per company expectations and direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
Qualifications:
- At minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in rehabilitation. (PT, OT, SLP). Master’s Degree preferred.
- Current, unencumbered rehabilitation therapist license (PT, OT, SLP) required.
- Thorough knowledge of Medicare and third party billing. PDPM/Medicaid
- Must be knowledgeable of regulations governing rehabilitation services in nursing care facilities.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing rehabilitation services.
- Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
