Promptcare is looking for a Regional Director of Pharmacy to join our team. This is a full-time in office position, 40hrs per week, Monday - Friday. The candidate can work out of any of our following locations: Lenexa or Wichita, KS; Omaha, NE; St Louis, MO; Cedar Rapids, IA or Hoffman Estates, IL.
Job Summary
The Regional Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the supervision of Pharmacy personnel as well as the oversight, management and safety of Pharmacy operations including compounding, dispensing, scheduling, purchasing, distribution and regulatory compliance. The Regional Director of Pharmacy may also serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for state licensing.
Requirements:- B.S. degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution required
- PharmD or MS degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years recent clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with specialty drugs
- Certification in Specialty Pharmacy preferred
- Thorough knowledge of infusion therapies preferred
- Previous experience in a leadership role (e.g., pharmacy manager, Director of Pharmacy)
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy and healthcare
- Knowledge of the latest trends in the pharmacy industry
- Recent inventory management experience preferred
- Accuracy in mathematical calculations including pharmacokinetic dosing preferred
Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Provides direct oversight, leadership and management for all pharmacy processes and employees ensuring appropriate coverage in absence of staff
- Ensures uninterrupted processing, filling, compounding and distribution of medication, supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, pharmacy licensure requirements, accreditation standards, OSHA, CDC, FDA and USP guidelines
- Completes branch site visits and pharmacy inspections on an ongoing basis to ensure connectivity, compliance, and communication across all sites
- Develops and maintains pharmacy policies and procedures, education, and training materials
- Sets goals and objectives for the pharmacy department and assists in the formulation of organizational goals and objectives
- Supervises overall inventory control and purchasing
- Hiring, training, development, evaluation, promotion, and termination of Pharmacy employees
- Performs duties of staff pharmacist when required
- Design and implement mechanisms to establish ongoing accountability within pharmacy staff to improve work performance and increase operational efficiencies
- Counsel patients on therapy management, side effects, and other pertinent issues relative to the patient’s disease/condition and other concerns based on package insert and comorbidities
- Respond to all patient issues, requests for clinical information and other concerns that may adversely impact adherence and compliance

position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, minimum weight of 35 pounds.
