What You Need to Know
Regional Director of Clinical Operations RN-Hospice Responsibilities:
- Travels to assigned sites within area of responsibility to assist with Clinical Operations
- Leads projects as assigned by the VP-Nursing and/or SVP-Clinical Operations and Patient Experience
- Direct supervision for Area Director-Clinical Operations
- Maintain oversight of site KPI's and works with sites to ensure attention to and accountability to Clinical Strategic Plan
- Participates in:
- Monthly and quarterly Clinical Director Meetings
- Team Director Boot Camps
- Executive Director training sessions
- Monthly Medical Director audio conferences
- Annual Medical Director conference
- Other trainings and/or meetings as assigned
- Assist with start-up operations as assigned and preparation for accreditation surveys
- Contribute to development of clinical protocols (processes) as needed for all relevant clinical positions
- Participate in annual review of these protocols and make updates or assign updates as needed
- Serve as clinical expert for all program locations within given area of responsibility, including 24/7 clinical situation response
- Collaborate with Learning and Development team:
- Assist with education and training for new Clinical and Team Directors
- Assist in organizing and executing annual Medical Director education and training sessions
- Reviews audit reports with a goal to improve clinical processes and costs for each program site
- Participate in interviewing potential Clinical Directors, Medical Directors, and other regional Clinical Operations positions
- Acts as a consultant to provide training, education, auditing, and other duties
- Collect information on operational activities of program sites and provide to leadership for action plan development
- Partner with Quality and Field Compliance teams to develop plans of correction for internal and external audits
- Review Open Access cases, including assessing; Appropriateness for admission and Appropriateness for ongoing treatment
- Review of EMR analytics and reporting to assist with quality of compliance
- Reporting outliers to VP-Nursing and assist program sites with maintaining compliance
- Participate in review and assist with Additional Development Requests (ADR), as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Regional Director of Clinical Operations RN - Hospice Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) practicing (CA/OR/WA)
- Current Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse certification
- Previous clinical management experience
- Ability to travel regularly required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with various levels of internal and external customers
- Computer proficient including demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR software
- Knowledge of Hospice Medicare regulations and the Joint Commission standards, including familiarity with the state hospice regulations for those state
- Excellent personal, administrative, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to practically problem solve and work effectively under tight deadlines
- Superior negotiation and detail-oriented presentation skills
