Referral Coordinator

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals within a vascular office setting
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of referral requests
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to gather necessary information for referrals
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations for upcoming appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless patient care

-Meet productivity authorization/verification requests 2 weeks prior to the scheduled appointment

-Modifies CPT/ICD-10 Codes and extends authorizations as needed

- Understand the CPT/ICD codes being submitted

-Maintain an understanding of payer policies for procedures

-Obtain benefits prior to patient visits

-Contact patient and or referring provider when unable to verify insurance benefits
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical setting preferred

-Prior experience as a Referral Coordinator utilizing EMR
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding (ICD-9, ICD-10), and managed care
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems for managing referrals and medical records
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals

- Ability to work well under pressure

- Exceptional attention to detail

- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.88 - $21.53 per hour
