POSITION ANNOUNCMENT

JOB TITLE:Reentry Services Certified Peer Support Specialist

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) for our Reentry Services team in Wilmington, North Carolina. Coastal Horizons’ Reentry Services includes a variety of programming aimed at increasing pre-release screening and assessment of individuals living with a co-occurring disorder, improving the provision of treatment following incarceration, reducing the use of drugs and alcohol during the transition from incarceration to the community, and reducing recidivism among participants.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Reentry Services CPSS will receive training to facilitate group services including but not limited to Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) and Parenting Inside Out (PIO). The Reentry Services CPPS will provide case management services to participants and assist with drug screening, transportation of program participants, and data collection. Services will be provided in-person and via telehealth to participants in the detention center, program office, and community as required by funding contracts.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have high school diploma, equivalent, or higher combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts. Personal experience of mental health/substance use disorder treatment and/or incarceration is preferred. Must have at least one year of successful recovery.
