Job Description
You will be working alongside a passionate and driven management team, focused on adding value to organic waste. PreZero US is currently looking for an Operations Manager in Ontario, CA. The position is responsible for supervising site operations for production, maintenance, shipping, receiving, and other related activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective utilization of human resources, equipment, and facilities to produce quality products.
Essential Functions

Coordinate with management team to ensure production demands are met, quality standards are maintained, and a safe environment is provided.
- Proactively manage workflow and staffing levels to achieve productivity and maintain quality standards.
- Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, shipping, and production of all materials and ensure a smooth and consistent operation.
- Monitors loading and unloading of materials on site; ensure materials are staged first in/first out; ensure receiving reports are accurate.
- Ensure materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety and compliance procedures.
- Completion and enforcement of Safety and Compliance inspections and forms (Safety checks, odor BMPs and SWPPP BMPs etc.).
- Act responsively to resolve production/material problems, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions.
- Supervise direct reports in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Proactively monitor team performance and provide training, coaching and corrective action as necessary to hold employees accountable for performance expectations.
- Management of production, janitorial and safety consumables.
- Prepare and manage all paperwork associated with operations, including production logs, process logs, equipment inspections.
- Prepare KPI reports and present weekly performance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain active focus on continuous improvement to reduce complaints, improve value, and lower costs.
- Manage performance measures and provide regular progress reports to line manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices, safety procedures, quality procedures, maintenance procedures and shipping/receiving procedures.
- 2 years’ experience in recycling and/or organic waste management.
- Detail oriented with strong time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, establish priorities and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to interpret, summarize and communicate relevant production KPI figures.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Competencies
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SAP Business One is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Experience with OSHA/CalOSHA, CalRecyle, California Waterboard and SCAQMD guidelines and reporting.
Work Environment
- Site operations are located outdoors.
- Food waste is the predominant material received and processed at the site; candidates should be comfortable with processing such materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
