Job Description
We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Recreations Program Manager. Under the general direction of the designated Facility Manager, provides oversight of all Center programming including camps, preschool, fitness, and special events. This position interviews and hires facility staff oversees licensed programs and provides support to the operations manager and the facility manager. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and manage a large staff of programmers, instructors, teachers, and other leadership staff. PRCS serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
We are currently hiring for the following locations:
- Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, Ashburn, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manages budgets and expenses of programs and preschool.
- Oversees development of center programming, recreation center staffing, and events.
- Assists the center advisory board, facilitates an event calendar, and prepares brochure information.
Work hours are varied on weekdays and weekends between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. with occasional holidays

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree: three (3) years of related work experience in RECREATION PROGRAMS; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An understanding of the principles, practices, and techniques of recreation programming.
- Skill in communicating with the public and program participants.
- Maintaining cooperative work relationships with employees and supervisors to interpret established methods and guidelines and ensure compliance.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
- Criminal background, credit checks, Child Protective Services (CPS), and DMV records checks are required.
- Valid driver's license and pass TB test within 30 days of hire.
- First Aid/CPR and OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) certifications within 90 days of hire; hold or obtain certifications desired by Department for specific assigned area.
- Must annually complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation disclosing any criminal convictions or pending charges.
