Job Description
Christopher's Reason is a substance use disorder facility that specializes in treating those who suffer from addiction. We are a fully operating OASAS 822 Outpatient clinic located on the South Shore of Staten Island. We are equipped with a full medical, clinical, and peer support team. We also have a Recovery Transitional Living facility on site that operates 24/7. We are seeking an experienced Certified Recovery Peer Advocate/Peer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate who is independent and self-motivated with familiarity and experience in the field of addiction. Please provide certificates and references along with your resume. Only a certified Recovery Coach/Peer Specialist will be considered for this position. The salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting one on one peer support sessions
- Facilitating peer support groups
- Utilizing recovery expertise, professional training and lived experience
- Outreach to engage individuals currently in a program or considering treatment
- Educating program participants about various modes of recovery
- Accompanying clients to medical appointments
- Provide support and guidance to individuals in recovery from substance abuse or addiction
- Assist clients in developing and implementing personalized recovery plans
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to monitor progress and offer encouragement
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care for clients
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or CRPA-Provisional (CRPA-P)
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Previous experience working in the field of addiction recovery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
