We are a small but growing mental healthcare private practice, providing both medication management and psychotherapy services. We are looking for an applicant to do medical reception and new patient data entry, and who may be interested in developing skills in psychiatric phone triage.

Duties:
- Greet patients, verify their information, and notify clinicians of their arrival
- Collect payments and remind patients of past due balances at check-in and by phone
- Initiate and answer phone calls and patient portal messages in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist patient with scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments and support clinicians in the management of their clinical schedules
- Identify when patients need to be directed to the clinical triage staff, and response to clinical emergencies appropriately
- Participate in the tracking and management of medication refills
- Process email and fax communications, send and receive medical records
- When appropriate, educated patients about clinical policies in a respectful and clear manner
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and tidy office environment
- Support the onboarding of new clinicians and patients by entering demographic, insurance and clinical data into the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Potential area of professional development: Respond to calls and messages from patients about clinical issues, gather necessary information from the patient and medical record and send messages to psychiatric prescribers and therapists. Manage clinical communications with patients under the guidance of the clinicians. Training will be provided, but some pre-existing knowledge of this work is desirable.
