Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting and relocating product from base to established destination(s) and ensuring inventory accuracy.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
• Safely operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize product.
• Work closely with production to ensure product is taken to and from production in a timely manner.
• Count, weigh and/or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information.
• Responsible for all product and material within assigned work area - this includes, but not limited to, inventory levels, product location, warehousing and proper product rotation.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper and safe operation.
• Follow instructions to ascertain raw materials and other materials needed for daily production.
• Ensure production personnel obtain needed supplies and materials in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Other duties as assigned by Management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Skilled in operating a forklift or other material handling equipment preferred.
• Strong Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally and within a team based environment
• Utilize safe operating skills
• Follow all company safety policy/procedure/rule/regulation.
• Ability to become PIT Certified required
Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior Forklift Operator experience preferred
• Manufacturing and/or Poultry Industry experience preferred
