About the Role:

Please note: This position requires 5 days onsite, no option for remote work. 

We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual who will proactively execute and propose innovative solutions aimed at new product development and existing product renovation and improvement through product design and formulation, quality, technology, sensorial, shelf life, etc. This team member will execute day-to-day lab processes to ensure adherence to all programs, including the management and record keeping of all lab documentation. Including the oversight and coordination of the facility sanitation and environmental monitoring programs aimed to guarantee appropriate sanitary condition within the working environment. This team member will also organize and execute internal team training and post training monitoring, to assure the proper application of related working instructions.
This role supports the Cookies, Cones, Pie Crusts, Ferrero Mainstream Chocolate and Fannie May business units in Ferrero North America. Focused on lab scale product formulation development of new and innovative products for Ferrero North America.


 

Main Responsibilities:

⦁    Under manager supervision and alignment, ensure the on time and efficient execution of all research and development benchtop and laboratory activities, tests in accordance with the marketing brief, evolution of the legislation, ensuring analytical and interpretative reliability to protect the consumer.
⦁    Execute bench formulation development – ability to convert weights to percentages and vice versa.
⦁    Proactively execute & propose innovative solutions aimed at developing, renovate & improving product related aspects (product design and formulation, quality, technology, sensorial, shelf life, etc.).
⦁    Perform activities to revise, in the critical phase, the diverse type of raw materials and semi-finished products of the category of competence, new and already used in the Company, in order to improve the organoleptic and structure of the product and possibly reduce the costs of procurement and processing.
⦁    The individuals will support the effective management of ingredient and warehouse inventory management, preventive equipment maintenance, cleaning and sanitization of equipment, and ensuring lab safety and GMPs
⦁    Ensures laboratory analysis, tests and research in projects aimed at controlling and improving products, supporting the related decision-making process.
⦁    Prepare the diverse analysis of products developed by our competitors, within and outside the core category.
⦁    Prepares the sampling required for tastings, sensory analysis, taste tests, supporting the related business decision-making process.
 

Who we are looking for:

⦁    Pastry Chef degree or Bachelors degree required with 2 -3 years of experience.
⦁    Bakery and confections experience – ideally with a pastry chef/food science background
⦁    Experience in a regulated food environment managing documentation and records
⦁    Knowledge of Food Safety programs and GMP’s
⦁    Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
⦁    Excellent analytical and organizational skills in written and verbal formats
⦁    Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
⦁    Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
⦁    Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
⦁    Detail oriented and rigorous individual who can manage their projects and follow complex processes.
⦁    Able to utilize analytical equipment and run diverse measurements (texture, moisture, color, etc.) and summarize the data and it’s implications to the product.
⦁    Strong computer skills – specifically Microsoft Excel.


Must be willing to work in a facility where milk, eggs, peanuts, soy, and/or wheat allergens are processed, with or without accommodation.
