The Lab Technician performs accurate, precise and timely testing of laboratory samples in accordance with approved methods within appropriate GMP and safety guidelines in either the Quality Control or Environmental Control Laboratory. Expertise in lab operations, attention to detail and thoroughness are critical components during second person verification (SPV) of analytical data. The Lab Technician will participate in laboratory investigations, equipment qualification, and maintenance by executing well defined protocols and procedures. Active in identifying, communicating, and participating in opportunities for improvement to lab operations.
Job Duties:
1) Sample Analysis and Reporting
- Accurate, precise, and timely execution of analytical methods and related support activities as per procedures/protocols. Adherence to structured work flow to maximize productivity is expected.
- Performs data entry and verification reviews with utmost diligence and attention-to-detail in accordance with procedures, standards, and GMP requirements.
- Recognizes suspect analytical results and deviations from procedures, initiating a SARE/Event notice.
2) Routine Lab Activities
- Performs routine equipment qualification/calibrations or maintenance through execution of well-defined protocols
- Participates in laboratory investigations
- Maintain a clean work space.
3) Lab Operations
- Training and mentoring of others in the lab
- Executes notification to management when required by procedure or standards.
- Assist co-workers to timely execution of duties within any laboratory.
4) Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Identifies opportunities for improvement initiatives in daily work activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and methods as required.
- Participates in improvement activities and self inspections.
- Participate in laboratory cross training activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must Haves:
1) B.S/A.S Degree in related field
2) 3+ years of HPLC experience (2+ outside of academia)
3) Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, and math skills
4) Proficiency with computers
5) Attention to detail lending to the ability to work well in a highly regulated environment
Nice to Have:
1) Analytical instrumentation experience with HPLC, GC, Particle Size, Lipid Fat Test, etc.=
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
