Job Details:
  • Responsible for designing innovative solutions in Hardware for DOCSIS Cable Modem, Cable Gateway and CMTS HW designs for integrating High Speed Interfaces of DDR4, LPDDR4, LPDDR5, PCIe, USB, 25Ggig Ethernet, and analog cores, amplifiers, Diplexers, filters, switched networks, and high volume product requirements which include surge and ESD solutions into representative product designs for evaluation of custom silicon and end product market viability.
  • Opportunity to work with highly skilled multidiscipline design teams including DOCSIS and market specification teams, silicon analog core teams and software development teams in the development of a System on Chip for DOCSIS Cable Modem, Cable Gateway, CMTS Node and RF Smart Amplifier designs.
  • Ability to utilize a strong working knowledge for evaluating and mitigating EMI and EMF signal ingress and immunity from environmental and cable plant sources such as power line, MoCA, Wi-Fi, LTE and more general sources of Surge, EFT, ESD and otherwise required for worldwide commercial markets.
  • Strong working knowledge of standards and Automated Test development for device and product characterization and regression, and product market certification, including DOCSIS Phy, DOCSIS MAC, Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM), SCTE-40 and similar standards.
  • Working with software and test groups in the definition and development of product needs including calibration, characterization, test command development.
  • Strong background and working knowledge of Product and/or Silicon verification over Process Voltage and Temperature.
  • Experienced in the ability to work with customers, reproduce customer field problems, and ability to provide beneficial feedback to resolve market problems, including an ability to perform review of customer designs and support customer product development.

Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in electrical engineering with a strong background in Broadband RF systems preferably with experience in a DOCSIS product offering.
  • Must have 10 years of experience in Broadband Radio Frequency engineering for the development of RF Broadband designs for high volume commercial and/or enterprise products.
  • Strong background in DOCSIS 2.0 and DOCSIS 3.1 strongly preferred including over 5 years of experience in Cable Modem, Cable Gateway and/or CMTS and Amplifier hardware product and end-customer compliance development.
  • A history of leading design development, test and verification to ensure measured results meet design target, including procedures, test structures, simulations, and proposing design improvements to the product. Ability to work autonomously, assume responsibility for tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Must have a strong background in Digital and Power test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers and Network analyzers considered to be very beneficial.
  • A background in RF test equipment including RF power meters, Vector Signal Spectrum analyzers, and Network analyzers with specific knowledge of Rohde and Schwartz CLGD, Rohde and Schwartz FSW, and Keysight UXA considered to be very beneficial.
  • A highly methodical and organized individual well-disciplined in providing documented test results and technical reports including setup, conditions, hardware detail, and similar ensuring a larger group understanding and ability to share and replicate results.
  • Knowledge of scripting in languages or similar languages to Python and JavaScript and coding in languages of C, C++, and C# beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $111,000 - $185,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
