Job Description
Welding/Fabricating assemblies and assembly of prototype machines currently in development. Giving engineering feedback to improve designs as wells to simplify manufacturing. We manufacture equipment that is used in the fiber optic construction industry.
Position Overview:
- Mastery of hand and power tools. Understanding and operating machine tools is a plus.
- Able to work off of drawings and check lists.
- Solidworks experience is a plus.
- Hydraulic hose installation.
- Must be a self starter.
- At times work with other teams on existing product will be needed. But the focus is development of new products.
Responsibilities:
- Welding assemblies and assembling different parts together in a organized and timely manner.
- Analyzing designs and suggesting improvements.
- Testing new versions of the machine.
Qualifications
- Must be a highly skilled welder/fabricator in MIG mild steel.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude. Understanding of how machines go together.
- The ability to use CNC plasma and waterjet is a plus.
- An ideal candidate has had worked assembling machinery.
Additional Information
We are a low stress, low pressure, zero drama company. You can have flexibility over working hours. The only thing that matters is making consistent progress with new machines and new designs. This is a new position dedicated to the completion of new products.
As we have grown we now need someone that only does this one task full time. You will have lots of assistance and needed training but you will specialize in R&D manufacturing of prototypes and beta units. We have regular raises every April and October. Bonuses at the end of year are dependent on the overall profitability of the company an your own performance. PTO at 6 months, health insurance at 3 months.
