This position is located in Idaho Falls, ID and Pocatello Idaho. Information about Idaho Falls and the surrounding area can be found hereQualifications: For GS-5: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04. Examples of specialized experience may include: experience in the application of herbicides; work related to public lands grazing or assisting in the management of lands comparable to public range; experience in landscape restoration activities; experience in the safe operation of high clearance vehicle four-wheel drive vehicles.

Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a subject-matter field directly related to the position, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above For GS-4. No more than 6 semester hours in mathematics is creditable.
For GS-6: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05. Examples of specialized experience may include: prior experience in the application of herbicides, ability to safely operate high clearance vehicles, ability to safely use trailers to transport supplies to worksite, and experience in the collection of positional data using GPS.

Education: half year (9 semester hours) of graduate level college education in a field related to range work such as a major study in forestry, range management, agriculture or a field directly related to this position.

Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work ranges from sedentary when completing duties in the office to frequent field work requiring a considerable amount of walking, riding, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Work Environment: Office work is performed in adequately lighted, heated, and air conditioned offices. Much of the time is spent in the field where exposure to extremes of heat and cold, rough terrain, insects, snakes, and other hazards are common. The employee will carefully adhere to all safety procedures to mitigate hazards encountered.Education: Applicants may qualify for these positions based on experience, education, or an equivalent combination as described in the Qualifications section of this announcement.
