In addition to our many benefits and perks, UAB Medicine provides a variety of resources to support employees both personally and professionally.Under general supervision and according to UAHSF established policies and procedures, provides a variety of specialized services that require interaction with patients, visitors and other members of the patient care team. Greets patients and performs required medical testing (i.e.
vital signs, lab work, etc) as designated by either physician or pre-designated protocol. Perform X-rays as ordered by a physician under the guidelines of radiology technician standards. May prepare and collect charge tickets.
May prepare, order and distribute patient charts and update patient information. Answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results and medication while in constant contact with attending physician. Performs a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and decision making skills within well established parameters.
