Radiologic Technologist with CT and/or MRI capability needed for work in both our Gardendale and Vestavia locations..
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to be responsible for operating imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes. The Radiologic Technologist's responsibilities include following physicians' orders regarding the area of the body to scan, positioning patients and equipment, and answering patients' questions. The Radiologic Technologist will use imaging equipment including CT and/or MRI to capture images of tissues, bones, organs, and vessels.
Radiologic Technologist Responsibilities:
- Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.
- Utilizing CT and/or MRI, with a willingness to train in one or other modalities.
- Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort.
- Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences, and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast.
- Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
- Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records.
- Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
- Performing scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
- Providing a high-level of customer service through positive patient interactions.
Radiologic Technologist Requirements:
- 2 or more years of experience in radiologic technology, preferably utilizing multiple modalities
- Experience utilizing CT and/or MRI technologies
- Willingness to be trained in new modalities
- A license to practice radiography.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.
- Good organizational, time management, and analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- The ability to lift heavy weights without assistance.
Job Type: Full-time or PRN
Salary: $25 - $40 per hour
