We seek a motivated and skilled Radiology Technician to join our esteemed client at their medical center in Iowa City on a 6-month contract with the option to further extend for another 6 months.
As a Radiology Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and safety. You will work in a dynamic healthcare environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional diagnostic imaging services.
Duties:
- Perform a variety of radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, following established protocols and procedures.
- Respond promptly to stat and urgent exam requests, prioritizing patient care.
- Review patient labs and medical history to assess exam suitability and potential side effects.
- Prepare and administer contrast material as required.
- Safely and accurately transfer and position patients for imaging procedures.
- Adhere to all guidelines, protocols, policies, and infection control standards.
- Conduct procedures including G.I. examinations, tomography, cholangiograms, intravenous pyelography, arthrography, ERCPs, and routine diagnostic procedures.
- Process film plates using the CR system and operate computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain section stock items and supplies.
- Stay current with industry techniques and maintain competency through continuing education activities.
- Provide courteous and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Interact appropriately with patients of all ages.
- Protect sensitive data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Utilize word processing software and health information systems as needed.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Certification in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).
- Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in diagnostic radiologic technology from an accredited program.
- Compliance with credentialing standards as outlined in 42 CFR Part 75.
- Maintenance of certification is required; failure to obtain or maintain certification may result in termination of employment.
- Must pass the pre-employment physical examination.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program and COVID-19 vaccination program is mandatory for all Health Care Personnel (HCP).
