GENERAL SUMMARY:
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the diagnostic imaging area. In an environment of continuous quality improvement, obtains diagnostic radiographs. Assists in administration of contrast media related to particular diagnostic procedures. Provides coverage in the clinical and clerical aspects of the practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible (equal two years post high school) and licensed by the State of Ohio.
  • 1-2 years of previous physician office experience preferred
  • CPR certification required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills necessary
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Standing 1-2 hours at a time.
  • Walking approx. 30 minutes per hour throughout the day.
  • Withstanding pressure and deals with emergency situations as needed.
  • Average working hours with possible non-traditional hours.
  • Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
  • Ability to deal with upset or disgruntle patients in order to deescalate the situation.
SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides radiological services within the scope of his/her training and license.
  • Assures safety of patient while performing radiological patient services in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for keeping license and equipment up-to-date. Maintains equipment and is responsible for annual checks.
  • Completes patient documentation within the defined aspects of his/her license.
  • Maintains office records and logs as directed by your supervisor.
  • Provides coverage in the clinical and clerical aspects of the practice.
  • Accurately take vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respirations, weight, and fetal heart tones
  • Accurately determine appropriate immunizations and administer the immunizations safely
  • Administer IM and subcutaneous injections and give oral meds if ordered
  • Assists providers with procedures including (but not limited to) colposcopy, cryo surgery, and pessary
  • Performs procedures as ordered including (but not limited to) removing sutures, applying steri-strips, and packing a wound
  • Obtain, prepare, and follow lab specimens including (but not limited to) specimen collection for urine, blood, culture and pregnancy. Follow guidelines set forth for storage and transport of specimens. Document lab test results.
  • Complete controls and logs for urine dip sticks, nitrazine, pregnancy tests
  • Ability to check and calibrate glucometer
  • Patient preparation, observation and recording history
  • Document refrigerator temperatures
  • Obtain informed consents
  • Provides patient education using videos and brochures
  • Ability to schedule consults, tests and referrals
  • Accurately determine payment systems for patients and schedule with appropriate managed care or insurance providers
  • Interpersonal and basic clerical skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Telephone skills, including scheduling, handling patient and provider inquiries
  • Ability to monitor correct equipment on the crash cart and emergency immunization response kit
  • Sterilization of equipment
  • Assist with ordering and stocking of supplies, replenish Glucola
  • Room set up and clean up
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Assist the patient in obtaining, processing, and understanding basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions.
