JOB SUMMARY:
Nevada Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a Radiology Scheduling Coordinator who will be primarily responsible for the effective coordination and efficient management of radiological exams – these exams can include PET, CT, Ultrasound and Stress Testing examination schedules. This position will utilize their experience in insurance verification, patient scheduling and clinical knowledge to ensure maximized patient examination throughput. This position will require detailed and focused coordination with various departments, physicians, and patients to ensure effective and efficient patient schedule management.

• Knowledge and experience working with prior authorizations
• Great communication skills in person and via telephone, and effectively communicate
with physicians, external medical offices, patients, and families, as well as insurance companies
• Knowledge of general medical and radiological terminology
• Able to educate patients regarding clinical prep requirements needed in advance of test completion
• Ability to review medical, clinical schedules by modality and/or resource for schedule optimization, eliminating gaps in multiple schedules
• Ability to create a patient wait/bump list to increase effectiveness of scheduling team
• Ability to document any new processes and procedures created and communicate with cross functional teams
• Ability to manage, lead and train additional team members
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Experience using RIS systems
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to track and manage a detailed patient radiology testing schedule
• Detail oriented and laser focused for extended periods of time
• Demonstrate good judgment and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, other facility staff, patients and families when providing instructions or responding to questions or exchanging patient-related information
• Must understand and follow HIPAA compliance laws, keeping all patient records confidential
DESIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• Previous Radiology Scheduling experience
• College degree preferred
• Insurance benefits and authorization requirements preferred
• Radiological license or radiology experience preferred – Radiology/Nuclear Technician, Diagnostic Sonographer, Cardiovascular Technologist or similar.
• Office Manager Experience preferred
• Superior Customer Service
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Maintain current American Heart BLS certification.

- Respond to sleep patients’ procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate education utilizing imaging center specific protocols.

- Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide appropriate feedback to staff.
- Comply with professional standards of conduct.
- Assist the medical director and/or manager in all aspects of the imaging center operations.
- Meets and exceeds short and long term goals as established for the department.
- Performs duties and job functions in accordance with the policies and procedures established for the department.
- Reports to work, meetings and professional obligations on time.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in department's efficiency and services performed.
- Serves as a member of the Imaging Department. Performs duties necessary to ensure the team's projects/goals are completed.
- Takes ownership of special projects, researches data and follows through with detailed action plans.
- Staff training and coaching.
- Handles advanced in-office coding for high end testing, and imaging clinic coding.
- Works with additional departments to ensure proper claim filing is handled in a timely manner.
- Supervises and works with Certified Coding Supervisor for auditing and compliance using HCC and CMS guidelines.
- Verifies payroll and vacation requests.
- Actively participates in problem identification and resolution and coordinates resolutions between appropriate parties.
- Audits certified department employees to maintain current certifications.
- Audits work done by the entire Coding department to ensure compliance at all levels.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Adheres to Corporate, Department and Human Resource policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Employee is required to have visual and auditory acuity necessary for communications with other employees and/or customers to meet business needs.
- Employee must be able to see written documentation and be able to speak and hear for communication with employees/customers.
- Ability to use a wide array of office equipment including, but not limited to a PC, copier, fax, multi-line telephone, etc.
- Employee is exposed to general indoor working conditions and may on occasion require light lifting or no greater than 20 pounds and some offsite travel is required.
