GDIT is looking for a Radio Frequency Systems Engineer Advisor to support NIWCPAC Code 53500 in San Diego, CA. Our work depends on a Systems Engineer Advisor joining our team to provide Advanced Tactical Data Links (TDL) Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) features testing support for our US Navy client. Join us as we help our Navy defend our country and advance the defensive capabilities of our allies.
You will also work as part of a small collaborative team in conducting and delivering EMC Test and Evaluation support for the MIDS-JTRS L16 platform. In this role a typical day would include: ● Conduct engineering analysis of system changes to determine level of EMC certification testing ● Conduct analysis of captured data to support EMC certification decisions ● Act as independent systems analyst providing unbiased findings to aid in EMC certification decisions. Qualifications: ● Active SECRET Clearance ● Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Network Technologies, Telecommunications Engineering, or other related fields.
● Minimum of 8 years in RF or Systems Engineering experience. Four additional years of experience (more than the 8 specified above) may be substituted for the education requirement. ● Current tactical communication system analysis experience (within the last 3 years) in Tactical Communications Systems to include TDL, ATDL, SDR, and/or related C4I systems. ● Experience with RF Communications, Frequency Management, and TDMA ● Ability to provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) related to EMC Features testing of the MIDS/JTRS SDR system.
● Familiar with DoD 4650.01 - Policy and Procedures for Management and Use of the Electromagnetic Spectrum ● Experience supporting the fielding of modernized SDRs and TDLs. ● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Desired experience: ● Demonstrated in-depth experience supporting U.S and Foreign Military Tactical Hardware Defined Radios (HDR) and Software Defined Radios (SDR) Systems for testing and technical data calls in relation to Electromagnetic Compatibility on the MIDS family of TDL Systems.
● TDL/ATDL troubleshooting; analyzing requirements; requirements traceability; functional and performance T&E planning and execution. ● International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) certification is highly desired.
