Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with C-band tracking systems is desired for this position.
- This posting is to support fixed and mobile Radar Systems .
- The successful candidate must be able to interpret electrical diagrams and electronic schematics, understand vacuum tube theory, diode and transistor theory and be able to troubleshoot high voltage systems.
- Digital and analog electronic fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot to the component level are required.
- Knowledge of test equipment operation for such items as signal generators, power meters, function generators, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes is required.
- Experience with and pneumatic and hydraulic systems are required.
- The candidate must be a competent PC user familiar with MS office and special use applications for Radar set operations.
- Possess mathematical skill necessary to perform algebraic skills necessary to solve radar equation problems.
- Troubleshoot, test, and operate if needed.
- The successful candidate must be able to perform physical tasks that include climbing ladders and towers, work in tight spaces with limited environmental control and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
- The successful candidate will serve as team member in a team environment, working on system components, performing operation and maintenance activities with minimal supervision.
- The successful candidate complete daily radar log entries, document corrective actions and preventative maintenance activities using Maximo.
- The successful candidate will generate material service requests (MSRs) as directed
- Ensures all mission documentation and safety procedures are followed, test records are kept.
- The ability to articulate clearly to other Wallops Range entities and management, as well as off-range entities over voice nets is essential.
- The ability to work under stress associated with rigid time demands is required.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Education & Experience
- AS degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or military technical training program, or completion of technical institute program.
- At least 2 years of related experience or in lieu of educational requirements at least 6 years of related experience.
