Job Title: Quality Technician

Reports to: Quality Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Shift: 2nd Shift: 235pm-1055pm M-F
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and works directly with all staff in the Quality and Manufacturing department
Job Summary:
Supports Quality and Manufacturing Team by providing production expertise to resolve Quality issues within the production operation. Ensure that the product meets customer’s requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process including incoming inspection, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct product and process audits
Develop and maintain inspection reports
Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications
Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
Perform inspections across all stages of production including incoming inspection
Prepare and maintain test data for review
Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
Contribute to continuous improvement activities
Support and participate in root cause analysis and process improvement activities
Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF16949/ISO9001)
Conduct duties in a safe manner, follow all safety procedures, report incidents immediately, wears proper PPE and conducts duties to their level of training.

COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE:
Solid understanding of test and measuring equipment
Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
Understanding of quality systems regarding IATF 16949, manufacturing processes
Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret information
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Able to proficiently read 2D drawings
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Minimum 3 or more years’ experience in a related position / field
Ability to use computer for work related tasks, Microsoft Office
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Physical, etc.):
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed
Must be able to work in rotating shifts
Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours or more.
