SUMMARY
Perform inspections of raw material, in process products and/or finished products to ensure defined quality standards. Examine, measure and test products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturer or industry specifications. Use appropriate gauges and equipment to perform routine and non-routine inspections, such as calipers, gauges, micrometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Document results of inspections and prepare reports. Performs routine tasks as directed under close supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for assuring quality in the area that they are assigned as well as any training and process implementation that is required 1. Perform visual and mechanical inspections independently on parts for defects and adherence to engineering specifications and process requirements.2. Perform product tests per ANSI specifications.3. Conduct ISO audits to verify management system compliance.4. Read blueprints and inspect parts to help diagnose quality issues.5. Perform audits on processes, procedures, and systems related to quality functions.6. Document and report audit findings according to quality procedures.7. Interpret and utilize scrap data to drive continuous improvement.8. Support operations and quality team on projects related to work area.9. Implement containment actions on non-conforming material.10. Follow safety regulations and guidelines, keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards. 11. Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner.12. May perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as needed.13. Flexibility to work overtime as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with operations and supporting teams. 2. Proficient with effectively operating measurement instruments that includes but not limited to; calipers, gauges, micrometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
