What to expect:
This is an onsite full-time, 6-month contract with the opportunity to be extended. You will be working in a Quality Mechanical Inspector position as part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client needs and each supplier’s production schedule.
What you’ll do:
- Witness and oversight inspection
- In-process and final witness inspection of windows
- Process reviews and recommendations
- Corrective action investigation and verification of C/A implementation
- Quality process improvement
- Read/interpret procedures
- Understand what is written and then observe if the written process is being followed
What you’ll need:
- 3+ years experience in aerospace manufacturing or related field
- Window commodity experiences, adhesive layers, coatings, assembly, and composites experiences (preferred)
- GD&T experience (preferred)
- MRB process (preferred)
- AS9100 (preferred)
- CAPA (preferred)
- Be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards
- Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills
- Due to the nature of the products, US Citizenship is also a requirement and background checks are required.
Note: Mechanical inspectors at this level are capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)
